1st Day, 1st Grade

It only happens once in your life! Today was Jay’s. It was good to see him off, but I couldn’t help but feel a little apprehensive leaving him there ALL day! He did great and really seemed to enjoy his teacher and class. I just hope 1st grade will be as “magical” as his kindergarten experience was.

Here he is by the front door on the way to school. (Being a teacher myself, he kept up the tradition we started last year by bringing a flower to his new teacher! Got to start off on a good note with those teachers!)Of course one of the things he was most looking forward to was having his own desk!

I love his shoes and he looks so big at his desk.

I’m so glad his first day went well. We’re still a couple more years off from 1st grade but just the thought of it gives me major anxiety already!

Somehow I missed that he and Siena are nearly the same age! Isn’t it amazing – we have first graders! (and a second grader, AND nappers!). Where does the time fly?! He looks so big. Much as we are happy to homeschool, I miss those first day photos…
